Hop-Up was a re-titling of How To Hop-Up Your Engine. Numbering carried forward from the previous title. It continued with strong hot rod coverage and was printed in large format by Harle Publications in New York, New York.
The company was purchased in late 1962 or early 1963 from Lee Sparacio, and the new publishers changed the name. Publishers were the two Fred's -- Fred Gardener and later Fred Tarter. Mr. Gardener owned it first, but within a short period he sold it to Fred Tarter. Mr Tarter owned Jamie Publications in New York and printed books and magazines on a wide range of topics.
