OVERVIEW:
Street Trucks was started by Y-Visionary Publishing in 1999 and is still
in production as of December, 2024. When it was started, the publisher had a history of producing high quality magazines with stunning photography, full color
graphics and heavy paper stock. Christina Yee, the publisher, teamed with three people with over 30 years of truck
magazine publishing experience to launch this custom truck magazine. They developed a unique, "all encompassing" editorial package to address the buyers and owners of pick up trucks, 4x4s, SUVs, compacts, and classic trucks.
At the start, the editorial team included Courtney Hallowell, Steve Stillwell and Brian McCormick. Steve was the classic truck guy, Courtney was the mini-truck guy, and Brian focused on late model trucks. Each person lived the content and truck scene themselves, bringing enthusiasm to the magazine and their projects. The long term success of the title was and is due to their ability to listen to their readers and deliver content the readers really wanted.
In October 2005, the title was sold to Apprise Media LLC along with two other products from Y-Visionary -- Drag Racer and Import Racer. Five year later, Apprise sold it to Beckett Media LLC along with four other titles.
