OVERVIEW:
Sport Truck magazine, published by Petersen Publishing Company, had perfect timing to hit the start of the performance sport truck movement!

Sport trucks are lifestyle-oriented, semi-customized street vehicles. Sometimes called "street lookers", these daily drivers feel like a car but have the utilitarian aspects of a pickup truck including towing capability. This trend was significantly influenced by the 1988 and later Chevrolet and GMC C/K trucks with their smoother and cleaner design. Then CNC machines brought about the ability to make customized parts including billet wheels, and new graphic printing technology and other component parts offered ways for owners to add roll pans, lower the vehicle with air ride suspension, install hard or soft tonneau covers and make distinct vehicles with colorful graphics.

The magazine itself covered lifestyle events and shows, had "how-to" technical articles, and featured show trucks as well as work-in-progress and completed owner vehicles. It competed with mini truck magazines such as MiniTruckin, and it was followed by a whole slew of new magazines that featured hot rodded pickups and trucks including Truckin' Classic Trucks and Custom Classic Trucks.
