OVERVIEW:
Unlike Lowrider, the parent magazine that featured classic American rides,
Lowrider Euro was a niche spin-off targeting import compacts, especially Japanese models (Honda, Toyota, Nissan),
and showcasing their unique customization styles. It featured articles on vehicle design, modification techniques, maintenance,
and the enthusiast vehicles built with a distinctly Asian-influenced vibe.
The title was started in 1998, one year after Park Avenue Publishing and Lowrider was purchased by Primedia's McMullen-Argus Publishing Division. It catered to a growing segment of import enthusiasts who adopted lowrider techniques for smaller, fuel-efficient cars, broadening the definition of lowriding and reflecting the diversification and international reach of lowrider culture into the world of customized compact imports.
