OVERVIEW:
Custom Craft was owned by Harle Publications. It featured "how to" articles on customizing and
pictorials It also included reader-sent photos
and highlights from car shows. The first publishers were Joseph Hardie and Raymond Kelly who also published
Soup-Up and Speed Mechanics to name a few.
OWNERSHIP:
In mid 1961, Lee Sparacio purchased the company (including other titles besides this one) and became the publisher with Frank Coggins as the editor. Sometime in 1963, publishing duties were
handled by Frederick Gardener, and Mr. Sparacio became the editor in chief. This may have been done to ensure a smooth transition to a new owner.
Then in 1964, there was another change in ownership to Jamie Publications, and the new publisher was Fred Tarter.

PUBLICATION DATA:
Custom Craft had three years of publisher provided circulation print data (1961 through 1963). It generally held the
#12 or #14 positions among all automotive titles. Average monthly net paid circulation ranged from 11,667 to 12,637 printed issues.
CONTENT COMPLETENESS:
There were 30 issues printed from February, 1960 through June, 1965. Cover images and table of content pages are complete for this title.
