OVERVIEW:
CSCC Notes was the in-house publication of the California Sports Car Club.
Sports Car Journal (SCJ) had previously functioned as the official magazine of the club,
but when it ended in April 1958 the club apparently opted to form its own magazine with James T. Crow as the editor.
When CSCC Notes started, Richard Sherwin was the advertising manager. In 1959 he joined Topaz Associates, and all advertising functions were outsourced to Topaz. In 1960, the title was briefly changed to CSC, then switched back in late 1960. In another internal change, advertising was switched to IDEA Associates for a few months in 1961, and volume and serial numbering was added. Advertising duties came back to Topaz in roughly September 1961 at the same time that Terry Keegan became the editor.
The magazine was monthly and devoted to club news and coverage of California road racing, driver profiles, sport car drive tests and other general news. It was published continuously until March, 1962. The club officially joined the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) as a region in April 1963, and the new "official" publication became Post Grid.
When CSCC Notes was superceded by Post Grid, Richard Sherwin helped re-launch California Sports Car as the editor in June, 1962. Terry Keegan joined him as the associate editor.
