OVERVIEW:
0-60 was created by editor-in-chief Brian Scotto with support from his partner Ken Block. Scotto differentiated the magazine by using long format
stories rather than more current news content. The tone was educated and knowledgeable, and a hint of snarkiness gave the content its
unique voice. It was printed on high quality paper.
The title honored automotive writer Tom McCahill, the inventor of the well known performance benchmark and who was clever, creative and brutally honest. In the Fall, 2008 issue, the magazine introduced the "Tommy", an annual award with the full name, "The Thomas McCahill Award for Excellence in Motoring". This award acknowledged those who made fast cars possible.
The first epic adventure story occurred in 2008 when the staff drove a Subaru WRX STI from Seattle, Washington to Tuktoyaktuk, Canada (over 1,000 miles North from Juneau, Alaska and well up into the Arctic Circle). These stories continued through print publication. After the last issue in Winter, 2011, Mssrs Block and Scotto went on to form [Hoonigan] and create a strong brand with YouTube.
