OVERVIEW:
California Sports Car magazine was a monthly title devoted to coverage of California road racing, driver profiles,
sport car drive tests and other general news. There was no numbering scheme used, and no publication data are available.
The same title had been used by Robert Clay in Los Angeles starting in 1957 or 1958. No issues have been found so we cannot determine if there is any connection or lineage.
OWNERSHIP:
Robert Topaz was the new publisher. He operated as Topaz Associates in Hollywood, California. Little is known about him, but he seems to have been a
promoter of car shows later in his career. He was also interviewed by police due him having been one of the last people to see Jay Sebring before
Mr. Sebring met his fate with the Charles Manson clan
in 1969.
Mr. Sherwin, the editor, had previously started Sports Car Journal in 1955 with a college classmate, Art Evans. More information on Art Evans can be found here.
And a young photographer, Allen R Kuhn, was on the staff and is credited with most cover photos. He continues to organize and sell vintage, iconic images from his website. Allen Kuhn's website can be found here.

CONTENT COMPLETENESS:
We have estimated 29 total issues printed, and all these images are complete. However, this is an extremely rare publication due to low print volume,
so other issues may be found in the future. We will also add better quality images as they are available.
