OVERVIEW:
British Car magazine highlighted classic British cars such as MGs, Austin-Healeys, Aston Martins, Rolls Royces, Jaguars,
etc. The publisher, Dave Destler, printed twelve issues as British Car & Bike then kept going but without the "Bike" moniker.
The owner was 2D Studios in Canoga Park, California. Like similar collectible vehicle magazines, content featured British cars and motorcycles, a few
technical and how-to articles, a calendar of events, club profiles, new product reviews, classified ads and reader profiles.
Sometime in late 1995 or early 1996, Mr. Destler appears to have sold the title to Enthusiast Publications, Ltd in Los Altos, California. On the masthead page, publisher Dave and wife Dayna are listed as founders, and the new publisher is shown as Gary Anderson. The magazine slightly modified its appearance and changed the Union Jack national flag logo.
PUBLICATION DATA:
The publisher reported net paid circulation data to Gale Research and Oxbridge Communication's compendia,
The Standard Periodical Directory from 1988 through 2005. Annual circulation was reported as 60,000 print issues for the
first eleven years of production, then dropped into a range from 25,000 to 31,000 each year for the last six years.
