OVERVIEW:
Sport Buggies was published monthly by Magazine Distributors International Circulation Corp in Reseda, California. The
publisher was Robert F. Ames, the same person who published Four Wheeler and Western Treasures.
Like most automotive-related magazines, the content focused on off-road racing, new products and testing, vehicle road tests, performance upgrades and how-to technical tips. The publishing schedule was bi-monthly in 1968 and switched to monthly in 1969. The title appeared to end with the October, 1969 issue, but a later March 1970 issue was discovered recently and shared by Nelson Sparks. It appears this last issue was a "Hail Mary" effort and included an eight page review of snowmobiles.
Its life was short and content was folded into Four Wheeler.
Mr Ames also published Western Treasures, a periodical that featured ghost towns, old mines, and treasure hunting. It was later retitled as Western & Eastern Treasures.
