OVERVIEW:
Poncho Perfection was published by Don Keefe. His goal was to unite the Pontiac hobby and fill the
void left in the magazine market by the closure of High Performance Pontiac (ended 2014) and
Pontiac Enthusiast (ended 2010). They accepted all forms of Pontiacs - early flatheads, late model
Fieros, LS-powered rides and of course the classic muscle cars.
Mr. Keefe brought together former editors of Pontiac magazines, freelance writers, photographers and artists who are all big Pontiac fans and well known in the magazine publishing industry - George Ellis, Stan Rarden, Rocky Patella, David Butler and many others. He referred to them as the "Pontiac Dream Team". He partnered with the Worldwide Newstand digital distribution system, and the magazine officially endorsed the Ames Performance Pontiac Nationals as the official event sponsor.
The title was offered in both digital and print forms, initially starting as a digital entity and later adding subscriptions. It was the official publication of The Cruisin' Tigers Pontiac Club until the end of production.
Mr. Keefe sadly ended the title due to a huge personal workload and the death of Stan Rarden. He had an extremely successful magazine and print run, and those of us who are Pontiac fans miss him and his work.
