Argus Limited Series

OVERVIEW
Argus Publishers Corporation had numerous regular recurring titles including Popular Hot Rodding, Off-Road, Super Chevy and Fabulous Mustangs & Exotic Fords.

It also published a huge number of annuals and one-shots, many of which used the Popular Hot Rodding brand. Although there were well over two dozen such titles, all have been grouped into this one web page. The reader will see the wide range of topics covered in chronological order. These are very indicative of the changing trends such as:

The strong interest in drag racing in the early 1960s,
The street rod movement in the early 1970s,
Chevy and VW performance that spanned multiple decades, and,
The emergence of street machines in the late 1970s and into the 1980s.

Argus Publishers Corporation was acquired by Primedia in 1995, and the publishing rate of these limited series declined towards that end date.
