American Rodding Magazine Covers 1964 - 1969
American Rodding magazine was published quarterly in a large format from September, 1964 through September, 1969. It was owned by Popular Library, and their publishing address was 355 Lexington Ave, NY, NY. The publisher was Frank Lualdi, and the editor was George S. Engel. The publisher had help from many resources to launch this magazine, including technical writer Roger Huntington, Fred Olmsted, LeRoi "Tex" Smith and Alex Walordy.
The first issue set the tone for content, and it included technical articles, U.S. and European sports cars, Indianapolis, drag racing, American muscle car reviews, and road rallies. Like many other magazines, this one covered a wide swath of popular rodding and racing activity.
PUBLICATION DATA: The publisher provided only three years of net paid circulation print volume data (1965 to 1967). And the same print volume numbers were submitted each year. The title stayed in the #11 or #12 position among all automotive magazine titles in this timeframe.
